Strategic Planning: Develop and implement overall purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company's objectives to optimize costs, improve efficiency, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, select, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts and terms to secure the most favorable pricing, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Cost Management and Analysis: Track, analyze, and manage purchasing budgets and expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements through data-driven insights.
Team Leadership: mentor, and train local team of purchasing professionals, monitore daily operations and workflow to achieve departmental goals.
Collaboration: Coordinate with various internal departments (e.g., finance, production, sales, and engineering) to understand their specific procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of required materials and services.
Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to ensure optimal stock availability, preventing shortages while minimizing excess inventory and waste.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations, while identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks.
Education: At least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics.
Experience: Significant proven experience (often 5-10+ years) in procurement or purchasing, including prior experience in a managerial or leadership role acquired in the industry sector.
Skills:
o Exceptional negotiation and communication skills in French and English (verbal and written), German is a plus.
o Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
o Excellent leadership and team management skills.
o Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools, SAP experience is a plus.
o Strong financial acumen and understanding of cost analysis and budgeting.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced
o environment.
